Cookies n Cream / Oreo Cake

Cookies n cream blizzards! anyone? whenever i visit an ice-cream parlor or a cake shop i always end up getting a scoop of cookie ice-cream or a piece of cake enriched with cookies and cream.
As simple as cookies and cream sounds there is just something irresistible about anything that includes cookies and cream.
I choose Oreos as cookies because they have a slight saltiness to them that just completes the taste.
I hope you guys will love this cake as much as i do once you try it. Good luck!

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease a 7/8 inch baking pan with some non-stick spray or coat it with some white flour.

  3. Add in the vanilla essence, salt and half of the white flour and whisk again.
  4. Pour in the milk along with the rest of the flour and whisk.
  5. Add the crushed Oreos (i like chunks of Oreo cookies so i did not crush them) and mix.
  6. At the end add in the baking powder and mix well (do not over mix once baking powder has been added.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared pan, pop it in the oven for 30-40 minutes, remove and allow to cool completely.

Preparing the Frosting

  1. To make the frosting, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, butter and vanilla essence and set aside to let it set.
  2. You can add more sugar or butter to achieve the desired consistency (if its too runny) or milk (if its too thick for your taste).
  3. You can prepare the Ganache using some chocolate bars and hot heavy/whipping cream.

Final Touches

Frost the cake and decorate with some Oreos as you like.
